Our culture is the thing that binds us together as a studio

We never stop picking up new skills or taking on fresh thinking and our regular designer and developer meet-ups give the team regular opportunities to share the latest tips and tricks with the rest of the studio.

Working hours are flexible between 7am-6pm and each team member can work from home up to two days each week. We offer all team members 38 days holiday including a mandatory two-week studio break over the Christmas period.

Root Studio’s open plan workspace gives each team member room to do their own thing whilst encouraging regular collaboration amongst the group. We also have a designated comfortable break out and meeting space for more independent work or smaller group discussions.

Every one of our valuable studio members has a specialist skillset all of their own and this has been key to our success as a group of talented designers and developers over the years.

Each year we set aside a budget of £1,000 for studio employees to arrange their own regular socials and group activities including everything from coffee mornings to meals out, go-karting and axe throwing - anything goes!

As a city filled with tourists and students, naturally Lincoln has a thriving scene of independent cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and craftspeople.

Lincoln has a collection of stunning public green spaces including the manicured Arboretum and Temple Gardens both just a short stroll from our studio. For those looking to live a little greener, the city's vegan culture is also growing with a number of cafes and restaurants popping up all over.

If you're considering a move to Lincoln then you can take advantage of lower house prices (£65k lower than the UK average in 2022 and 69% lower rent than London). House prices across Lincolnshire also rose by 9% between 2020-2022. 

Lincoln's 11th century Cathedral is an iconic landmark seen from miles around and was the tallest building in the world for over 200 years. The city proudly hosts an original copy of the Magna Carta, a castle built by William the Conqueror, Roman ruins and High Bridge - the only Medieval bridge in England with buildings still in use on top of it. That's not to mention Lincoln's rich history of innovation, the RAF, agriculture and food.
