We’ve been working with the LoCO2 team on a number of smaller print and illustration projects over the last few years and we were delighted to have the opportunity to work with them on their new website design.

To give you a bit of background, LoCO2 is an independent, British renewable energy supplier, producing and selling renewable energy. Unlike some other suppliers they believe in giving their customers complete transparency as to the origin of their power. They are committed to doing business honestly and fairly and have maintained an 'ethical company' accreditation for the past 4 years.

It was important that the new website should inform customers about the sources of energy as well as the various packages available using an informal and friendly tone that matched their vision for the brand going forward. The design we have proposed, and subsequently built, is packed full of information - but the beauty of it is that you wouldn't know at first glance. It's only when you start to delve a little deeper that you start to realise what a wealth of information you have at your fingertips when you browse through the new LoCO2 site.

The new site also had to lead customers to get a quote or switch their energy supply easily from anywhere on the site. We have achieved this in a variety of ways, from prominent and static hotlinks to more subtle and organic calls to action.

"Root Studio's proposal was full of proactive ideas as to how we could build a sales-led site to increase traffic and ultimately drive customers to switch to us. They really do know their stuff and instilled confidence from the start of the project. What I like about them is that they are both technology-focussed but also very literate and understand the marketing elements very well. I have worked with web designers and developers in the past who are very ‘IT’ : ie. good at coding but not at all good at understanding the customer journey." Gillian Thompson, LoCO2 Energy

The site has been live for less than 24 hours now so we are still waiting to see how customers (both old and new) will react to the redesign but the LoCO2 Energy team is very happy with how the website has turned out.

"Tom and Lea were also very responsive to my many questions and requirements and went the extra mile to help with the integration of our CRM system into the site. These guys deserve to carry on going from strength to strength… I am so pleased we chose them and will be continuing to use them for our design work going forwards." Gillian Thompson, LoCO2 Energy
