At Root Studio, we're on the hunt for a skilled front-end/PHP web developer to join our thriving design and development studio.
As a growing agency primarily based in Lincoln, we're looking for someone who shares our passion for building innovative, beautifully-crafted websites that help our clients succeed online.
If you have a strong command of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP and are interested in back-end work as well, this could be the perfect opportunity. We're looking for a developer with an eye for detail who takes pride in writing clean, semantic code.
What We're Looking For
In an ideal candidate, we'd love to see:
Mastery of HTML, CSS/Sass, and JavaScript
Strong working knowledge of PHP 8+
Experience with version control using Git
Familiarity with tools and task runners like Vite or Webpack
SQL and database management abilities
Framework experience with the likes of Laravel, AlpineJS, or Livewire
An understanding of CSS architectures such as BEM or ITCSS
Experience integrating websites with content management systems like Statamic, Craft, or WordPress
Basic server management and deployment skills
While at least one year of recent commercial development experience would be great, we're also open to hearing from talented junior developers who are eager to grow their skills in an agency environment.
What We Offer
In return, you can look forward to:
A competitive salary starting from £35,000+, depending on experience
Flexible working hours, with Mondays and Fridays remote
A city centre parking pass if needed
Company pension scheme
A fully-equipped Mac workstation with all the software you need
A healthy work/life balance in a trusting, enthusiastic environment
The chance to work on a diverse range of projects, from front-end builds to custom APIs

If this sounds like the kind of role you'd thrive in, we'd love to hear from you. Send your CV, a link to your website or GitHub profile and some examples of websites you've worked on in the past to apply@rootstudio.co.uk. We can't wait to see what you can bring to the table!
