A new e-commerce website for Made Little

Tom Bradley

Made Little approached the studio with a popular brand that needed taking to the next level. Based in Lincolnshire, Made Little is an independent online clothing store showcasing a unique selection of quality, organic and British products for babies and toddlers. At this stage the store was mainly spreading the word at baby events and through social media and already had a strong following due to their super products and friendly customer service.

We began discussing where we could take the business and it became clear that a rebrand was going to be the first step, followed by a brand new e-commerce site so that customers could browse and easily buy their stunning products from the comfort of their living rooms.

So we kicked off our logo design process which involves, research, sketching and concept development before presenting Made Little with a range of ideas that we felt would work well for the business. There was a clear favourite from the get-go and after a few tweaks and revisions the new Made Little logo was born. At this point we could already tell that we were onto something special and were looking forward to getting our teeth into the website!

“From designing and developing my brand to the implementation of my website Root Studio have been fantastic. They are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, approachable and patient!”

The main goal with the design of the new site would be to create a fun and colourful space for customers to easily browse through the products, find out more detail at the touch of a button and place an order within a few simple steps. We developed the shop experience by composing a user journey that we felt was the best fit for the products on offer and made life easy for the customer in a variety of different scenarios.

The design we developed with Made Little has been great fun to work on and includes some clever little features that we think their customers are going to love. Using our online prototyping tool we were able to walk through the journey with the client even at the concept stage and tailor the experience to meet all of their goals including optional areas to promote new products or special offers site-wide, options for users to create an account should they wish, promo codes and smart stock control all contained and managed within their easy-to-use CMS

“Launching my online shop has been extremely exciting but daunting and the Root Studio team have made it easy, taking the stress and worry away. I have put 100% trust in them and they have delivered.”

With the new Made Little site the user can now browse products by category, check out seasonal promotions and sales as well as filter results by brand and size and sort from A-Z or by price. These are all the things you would hope to do from any online store worth its salt. On top of these user features you can see delivery and returns info clearly from every product page, update your basket at a click of a button and even apply promo codes managed by the Made Little team. The payment journey is really simple and users can choose whether or not to register with the site (to make future orders nice and quick) or go through the entire checkout process as a guest. Once a user has registered or purchased a product they’ll be sent branded email confirmations detailing the next steps and thanking them for their custom. What more could you ask for?

"I cannot recommend them highly enough and I look forward to working with them again in the future."

We’ve crafted the site meticulously to ensure that it functions just as well on your mobile or tablet as it would on a desktop computer and we fully expect that mobile users will account for the majority of site visits going forwards. As with all of our sites, Made Little will receive a detailed website review after 6 months and we can’t wait to see how this vibrant business performs over this period.

We hope that you love using the site as much as we’ve enjoyed building it :) You can view the new Made Little website here.
