Species illustrations for zoos and conservation projects worldwide

We have years of experience creating engaging illustrations for zoos and parks that really bring out the personality in any animal!

From anatomical illustrations to detailed rainforest habitats and enclosure layouts we have produced artwork in a number of styles for 17 years. Our skilled illustrators ensure that each species is accurately hand drawn to resemble its key characteristics whilst maintaining its unique personality.

How we work

Over the last 17 years or so we’ve had the pleasure of working with a number of zoos, sanctuaries and non-profits all over the world

Working hand in hand with our design team our custom illustrations can be applied to any illustrated map, interpretation panel, book/document or presentation you have in mind.

The research process

Before making a start on any animal illustration, our designers will perform their own research into the species to ensure that they fully understand its movements, its habitat and how it behaves.

The creative process

Our illustrations are all produced by hand with the finishing touches applied on screen. Once complete the vector artwork is scalable to any size and can be shared in any format required.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an animal illustration cost?

The fees for an illustration vary depending on your chosen style, the complexity of the design and the intended final usage. Please get in touch for an estimate and we’ll be happy to discuss ballparks.

How many revisions are included?

Up to three rounds of revisions as standard within our design contracts. Additional changes after this point are evaluated and estimated based on their complexity (we will never charge you extra without permission).

Who owns the IP to my illustration once completed?

For illustrations, you will own the IP to the artwork once the final bill has been cleared. However, you will only have the rights to use the artwork as originally intended (as per our terms and conditions) - if you would like the ability to use the illustration for other purposes or to sell the artwork then please contact the studio for an estimate to be granted unlimited artwork rights.

How long does the design process take?

Timeframes can vary from project to project but as a rough guide the process typically takes between 1-3 weeks from brief to completion depending on the complexity of the artwork.

I am outside of the UK, how would this work?

No problem, we have many overseas clients and meet regularly via video call. All estimates and bills are provided in GBP and can be paid via bank transfer or credit card.

How do you bill for a project?

After a design contract has been agreed we will send over a deposit invoice for between 25-50% of the project fee (subject to requirements). The remaining balance will be billed upon completion with our standard 30 day payment terms.
